Perdue Farms' Lewiston, N.C., Associates Continue Legacy of Giving to the American Cancer Society
Associates deliver nearly $143,000 to ACS and raise total giving to more than $1.4 million
SALISBURY, MD (Tuesday, October 8, 2019) – Associates at Perdue Farms’ operation in Lewiston, N.C., and the American Cancer Society celebrated their 25-year partnership in the fight against cancer with the associates presenting a check for $143,000 in support of the Bertie County Relay For Life.
Perdue Farms has been supporting the Bertie County event since 1995. Since 2001, associates in Lewiston have raised more than $1.4 million. This year, the Lewiston associates placed in the Top 10 in the nation for their Relay For Life team fund-raising efforts. In past years, this team has won various prestigious national and regional awards and recognition for their contributions to the American Cancer Society.
"Associates here in Lewiston have a long history of generosity and support for the Bertie County Relay for Life,"said Jeff Stalls, director of Perdue operations in Lewiston.
"Their compassion and giving spirit in support of the American Cancer Society mission never ceases to amaze me. They truly reflect our company’s commitment to make our communities a better place to live."
The commitment to fighting cancer doesn’t stop in North Carolina. In fact, Perdue Farms’ associates across the company’s footprint are leading the fight against cancer as a member of the American Cancer Society Partners Against Cancer program.
